Self-Assessment & Need Analysis Report

Need analysis is essential in order to provide Lebanese universities with resources, tools and capacity building activities that match their needs and expectations. To this aim, an online survey has been disseminated among Lebanese universities and 1010 responses have been collected. The survey was open to all universities in consultation with the Directorate General of Higher Education in Lebanon.

Fruitful debates and discussions have been also conducted during the elaboration of the survey and within the frame of the shadowing visits in the University of Cadiz (Spain), the University of Rouen (France) and the University of Bologna (Italy). They constituted great opportunities for both EU and Lebanese students and staff to exchange about the existing structures and practices in their countries.

Based on the survey’s answers, a report has been elaborated, analyzing the current situation in Lebanese universities according to four axes:

  • Existing structures and programs to support student engagement and representation,
  • Student influence on Universities’ decisions,
  • Engagement and motivation of students,
  • Expectations of students.

The report on the survey is available here. The survey itself is accessible here.
